Cabernet Sauvignon - Grandmaître - Barrique, from Gregor Kuonen, Caveau de Salquenen, World’s Best Cabernet!
After trips to Portugal, France and Australia, this year the trophy has taken up residence in Switzerland!

Gregor Kuonen’s Grandmaître Barrique, Caveau de Salquenen, won the favour of the jury,
which included Maître Sommelier Jean Paul Paubert. In his words:
“This is what I would call a true Cabernet. It has the traditional side of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape: an assertive character, fruit, without exaggeration. It is an elegant wine, in which one finds the typicity of the Cabernet Sauvignon; it is very balanced, rich. Upon tasting, we recognise a Cabernet with a great deal of freshness, undoubtedly produced on south-facing hillsides.”
